After using his skills to travel across Europe to save his kidnapped daughter he then survived a plane crash and fought wolves with his bare hands and tiny airplane liquor bottles only to return to find his wife had also been kidnapped and once again he had to use his skills to save his family. Oh, also he was the voice of the lion in that trilogy about Christianity and snow.
In addition, Matthew Pollock is also a multi-award winning, accomplished director/writer/editor who specializes in comedy and nailing a variety of genres with deliberate and eloquent execution. Arguably the most successful director in the digital comedy game resulting in Billions of hits (Yes, with a "B"), Matthew helped build CollegeHumor Originals into the massive brand it is today with over 10 million YouTube subscribers and growing. He is also one of the few directors in the world to say he had his worked screened at the Pentagon for the entire staff. Matthew has directed numerous celebrities and maintains a great rapport with some of the industries best comedians, both on and off the set...some of them will even take his calls.
Recently he has taken his talents to television where he has worked on a slew of shows including Adam Ruins Everything on TruTV and Hot Date on PopTV, which he also co-executive produced. Other credits include a brand new digital series for YouTube Red, IFC's Comedy Music Hall of Fame (a comedy variety show hosted by Paul F. Tompkins featuring Weird Al, Tenacious D, and many more), Michael Bublé's Christmas Special on NBC featuring Michael Bublé and Ed Helms.
Commercial wise he's earned himself a Cannes Lion for his work on a Mentos commercial which has been aired across the world. He's worked on multiple campaigns for Mentos, as well as, Cadillac, Heineken, Microsoft, Progressive, Samsung, Mexican Tourism, and Reynolds. Most recent work includes a successful prank with Nylon Magazine featuring Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, and an ad for Ticketmaster that Matthew conceptualized and executed from beginning to end. Two pilots "Graduates", and "Lunchbreak" he directed are currently being shopped, all while he continues writing and directing the best original comedic scripts he can get his hands on. He is currently developing multiple television shows. Matthew brings a very relaxed atmosphere to set, verging on comatose, which he feels allows actors and celebrities to have the spotlight, while he guides them through the "funny." He also manages to love CrossFit, but not be annoying about it.
Other credits include a Star Wars Collaboration with Lucasfilms and YouTube featuring just to name a few Ben Folds, Weird Al, Chris Daughtry, Reggie Watts, and many more, which received many write-ups including Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Hollywood Reporter, and much more. Clients also include Pepsi, Coca Cola, Axe, YouTube, Bupa, Yahoo, Dr. Pepper, Nestea, Trojan, Intel, 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, and Rogue . His work continuously receives massive amounts of write ups, some press outlets include articles from The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Huffington Post, AdWeek, and Entertainment Weekly, and has been seen on NBC, ABC, E!, MTV, and G4. He has also received rave reviews from bears who, as a species, are impressed by his work ethic and tenacity for quality.
Currently Matthew is in pre production on a short festival indie film about his father's death that he wrote and will direct while shopping his three features and TV pilots. Matthew's 2018 seeks to tell stories that need to be told in both the tv/film and web space as well as create ad's that break the mold while captivating the most short attention span of audiences - are those cookies?!
